The Mazda CX-5 has a luxurious interior, offering a leather encased dashboard and console. The infotainment screen is mounted atop the dash and controlled by a rotary knob near the gearshift on the center console. There is a minimal amount of plastic used. The vents are trimmed in a brushed aluminum finish, while unique looking inserts trim the doors and the dash.

The interior of the Nissan Rogue offers a flat-bottom steering wheel to facilitate getting in and out. In 2018 the Nissan Rogue has only five seats like the CX-5. The Rogue has a little more legroom in the front seats, while the CX-5 has a little more back-seat legroom.

For 2018, every Mazda CX-5 comes standard with blind spot detection, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking and a rear cross-traffic monitor. All of these features are available on the Rogue as well , however they are not standard options. Other optional safety features are available on both cars including lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams.

Reliability

Buyers of either the Nissan Rogue or the CX-5 should see good reliability. Both manufacturers offer a 3-year/36,000-mile basic and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
